Bella Vista Library Hours
Open Monday — Saturday
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Mondays and Wednesdays the library stays open later from 9
a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Bella Vista Library is unique because it doesn’t get any
money directly from property or sales taxes.
Instead, the City contracts with the Bella Vista Library for
free library services.
In 2008, for the first time — 27 years after it was founded —
the library received some tax money to provide free library
services to the City’s residents.
In the contract, the City agreed the library would continue to
charge fees for the following services: renting DVDs and audio
books, making copies, printing from computers and sending or
receiving faxes.
Each year the contract may be renewed unless either the City or
the Library cancels it. The City Council reviews the contract
and amount of money the library receives when it’s preparing the
annual budget.
The money for the rest of the Library’s budget comes from
donations and grants from the Bella Vista Property Owners
Association, AARP Chapter 109, the Friends of the Library, the
Bella Vista Library Foundation and the generous people of Bella
Vista.
